Katerina Graham plays as Bonnie Bennett, the girl with mental powers Elenas (Nina Dobrev) best friend, in The CW’s drama The Vampire Diaries.
Born in Geneva, Switzerland, Graham speaks four languages and was exposed to different cultures from the earliest times. Her father, Joseph, was a music director. Her grandfather was an ambassador of the United Nations from Liberia. The family moved to Los Angeles, California, when Graham was 4 years old.
Graham began commercials at the age of 6 and appeared in spots for Barbie, K-Mart, Pop Tarts and Edison. Her first big break came when she replaced a young Christina Milian as the host of the series of film surfers. Their television credits include guest spots on such shows as Joan of Arcadia, such as Family, Grounded For Life, Lizzie McGuire, CSI: Las Vegas, The O.C., Malcolm in the Middle, Strong Medicine and Hannah Montana.
At the age of 15, Graham was chosen by choreographer Fatima to play as a background dancer for Lil ‘Bow Wow at the BET Awards. This experience led to other stints as a background dancer for Missy Elliott, Pharrell, Jamie Foxx, and choreographers Hi Hat and Michael Rooney.
